My random act of kindness was to donate my time to help a family in need, other than my own. There is a family associated with my daughter's Girl Scout Troop that was having some difficulty. There was Chid protective Service involment and the family was at risk of being seperated. Myself and several other members of our community stepped up and did necessary cleaning and repairs to keep this family together. You see, this is two families combined in one home, where both mothers are site impaired, and because of this, they did not know the extent of harm they were imposing on their sighted children. There is now a team of neighbors in place to assist this family so that there is no longer a need to divide the children up and put them into foster care. They are not unfit parents, they just need extra assistance.

my random act of kindness was about 1 year ago when i saw a single mom at a store and she got all of her 5 kids presents when she was checking her items out the total came out to $125.00ish and she only had 110.00 she was rifiling throgh her purse to find the other 15 dollars turns out she only took $110.00 out of her bank account that day.she was about to put all the items back until i came up and gave her my $15.00 because i knew that was the right thing to do...i was just gonna buy gum and candy but i thought giving it to someone who really needed it was better. When she got done paying for her stuff she told me THANK YOU SOO MUCH of course i said your welcome..every kid should open atleast one present on the holidays.

A few years ago my kids & I went to Friendly's on Christmas Eve day. We identified several tables of families to the waitress & told her at the end of their meals to bring us the checks. She told them "Your meal (or icecreams, etc) were taken care of by someone who wishes you a Merry Christmas."
Now, my kids ask for a present or two less than we would normally buy so we can keep up the tradition.

That is amazing! I'm going to tell my husband about that. It is a nice thing we should start too. Thanks a bunch and God bless!!

12/11/2009 4:13:26 PM. - Debbie - Nashua, NH

What a wonderful thing to do. I am sure that it also was a very important lesson for your children also. I am sure that they will grow up to be as warm and loving as you must be. Had you made the decision to do this before you went into the restaraunt or was it a spur of the moment thing? I applaud you!

12/12/2009 4:21:42 PM - nick name - usa
