12/2/2009 12:54:15 PM. - Wendy - Kent, WA

The cheapest therapy I ever got! I paid for a blood sugar monitor for the lady who was in front of me in line at the pharmacy. She had just found out she was diabetic in the process of being treated for another serious medical issue and her state issued medical coupon would not cover the brand of monitor her doctor wanted her to have. They would have had to call the doctor to get approval for the change and she was already late for an MRI appointment. Clearly this woman was quite ill and she was so frazzled! I can't tell you how great it made me feel to be able to help. So many folks have helped me over the years. So get out there and pay it forward people! You will be amazied how wonderful it feels!

Our 4-H group is going to an Assisted Living Home in our area to spend time with the residents there. We have kids volunteering to play their instrument of choice for them. So far we have someone playing the piano, saxophone, clarinet, guitar. Others are reading a Christmas related story or poem. We will take them homemade cookies, visit with them and sing together with them. A group of us will also 'perform' Christmas songs using kazoos, since that is an easy thing for all of us to play! We are dressing up all colorful and fun so they will smile.

What a neat way to bless others. The kids will also learn about random acts of kindness.

I was sitting in a restaurant one day, when I seen a family come in with 6 children. The mother looked like she was very tired, and had dirt on her face. The father was wearing ripped clothes, and looked poor. I sat watching as they each ordered off the menu. The waitress brought them each their food, and the little ones, devoured it like wolves. I could tell they had not ate in a long time. When the waitress came by my table, I asked her if she could give me the bill to the family she just waited on. The bill totaled $67.18, so I took out my checkbook and paid it for them. I left not knowing their reactions. One day, the same waitress came up to me and thanked me for what I had done, because I missed the happiness on the faces of each person in the family, as they found out their meal was paid in full. I know I did the right thing, because I saw the face of Jesus in every one who ate that meal.
