one christmas when my chidren was small I told them that i didnt want a christmas present that we would take the money that they would have spent on me,and use that money to adopt a family for christmas. In turn after my neighbors found out what we were planning they in turn did the same thing, after that family members of the neighbors got involved in turn resulting in about 10 familys were adopted it all started with that one small gesture and then grew into this great big ordeal that helped plenty families

11/17/2009 9:42:13 PM - Randy - Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

I was on my way to an orthodontist appointment with my mom early in the morning right after dropping the rest of my brothers and sisters at school. we saw a girl a little older than me we stopped and asked her where she was going (she was wearing the school uniform) she explained that she was late for school for vatious reasons we drove her to the school we had just come from and left with smiles on our faces!

it wasn't really me that did the random act of kindness, it was my aunt. there was a homeless person outside of a fast food place, so she bought him a meal, and he looked soo happy to have food:)

11/17/2009 3:50:03 PM - koopy - ON canada

wow that was really thoughtful I know I probably wouldn't be able to do that so easily!

My family and I give freshly baked holiday cookies to each of our neighbors and anyone we see on the street! I am very proud of what my family does for those who need a little happiness on Christmas!

I always give money to the homeless when I see them. As much as $20 on some occasions.

11/17/2009 3:29:36 PM - bailey - yucaipa ca.

that is nice, i try to do that to:):):)

11/17/2009 3:51:32 PM - koopy - ON canada

I think that is really nice but it's sad to know that often a lot of these homeless people use the money given to them to buy drugs it really makes it hard to decide whether you should give them money or not. GOOD JOB!

11/19/2009 9:13:42 AM. - Rudolph - North Pole

You have a good point Koopy ~ but I admire Mia for her kindness and ability to give to someone in need without hesitation and doubt. Unfortunately, there are some homless people and families even who are straight and sober, but lost their job, lost their house, lost their dog...who knows what else they've lost and it just doesn't seem fair to "lump" all the homeless people together in thinking they are just looking for a quick fix. Because I was never sure what they would actually spend money on that I gave to them, I decided long ago to do like Bailey's Aunt did and just buy a sandwich and a coffee and give it to the person, rather than handing over money.

11/20/2009 3:26:30 PM. - winnie - wanganui new zealand

wow what a neat bunch of carin people round the world joy peace and love to you all

6/22/2010 3:59:35 PM - koopy - ON canada

yeah i always have trouble because i wqant to benefit them b not providing them the money to buy drugs but then i may not be helping because they may actually need the money for food! But i really do admire you for that and it makes me try to think that there is still a chance that they aren't getting drugs!

6/27/2010 12:27:06 AM. - winnie - nz

you could give the needy a bowl of soup or a food parcel we have soup kitchens here and for a gold coin you get a meal desert hot cupa meet others all the churchers take turns each mth to run what is called friendship lunchers and if you havent a gold coin you just lend a hand to help set up the tables or help with dishers just like jesus he never turns away anyone we have aprayer and a shared meal from mon to sun alll the churchers take there turn to cook the meal and volunteers help to run it i did it for 4 years serving to the needy anyone who is on a pension or a benefit
i remember serving our 100 rd meal we had acake to celebrate it was a big one

10/21/2011 7:16:24 PM - sis - lisbon ohio

thats nice i agree with koopy what if they use it to buy drugs that is horrible
