I love Christmas so much. I try to celebrate all year long, even though people think it is weird. But I hat when Christmas is over. Worst part. During Christmas I go into the city A LOT. Last year I went like 15 times with my cousins from Italy. We all gave money to almost every homeless person we saw. It fells so good. I am doing the same this year.

I know it's not xmas yet but I would like to share this act of kindness. I was taking our 5year old daughter to her eye appointment at the IWK hospital, while trying to find a parking spot she noticed a homeless man sleeping on a park bench. She asked me if I seen him and why he was sleeping there, I explained to her that some people don't have homes. She replied everyone has a home. I said no honey not everyone. She said well I never seen him there before (she goes to the dr's once a month)I told her that there is some places they can go to sleep at night. She then when on to ask how does he eat? I again said there is some places that people can go to get food. She says oh but mommy everyone has to eat, we have some things in the truck can we give it to him? I said well we have to go to your appointment we will see if he's still there when we get out. Low and behold there is was still asleep when we got out. She very quickly reminded me that I said if he was still there we would take him over something to eat. So we crossed the street and started to walk towards him she held my hand a bit tighter the closer we got. She asked what to say if he woke up I said just say Have a good day. She quickly ran over and put the things down on the ground beside him and ran back to me. He never did wake up. She was so proud of herself (as was I)she informs me at least he had a drink there was a pop bottle beside him. The smile on her face was so big you would of thought someone gave her a million dollars. I told her she did a very good job and should be proud. I told her though we dont give them money she asked why I told her sometimes they spend it on things they dont need. Her answer was but if we won a million dollars could we feed all the homeless people? She then asked where he showers I again told her there is places to go. Her answer was he should just shower in the rain. So now everytime we go to the IWK she is looking for him but we havent' seen him since. I also want to add my mood that morning wasnt the greatest but after watching her and listening to her my day couldn't of gotten any better. I realized how lucky we are and what kind of special person our daughter is. Just wanted to pass this on, seeing life through a five year olds eyes.

I make and sell beaded bookmarks. While playing FarmTown on FaceBook, I was talking to a person while working her farm. I casually asked if she liked to read, and she said yes. I told her about my bookmarks and asked if she would like one. She takes care of her ailing mother in-law. So she trusted me enough to send her one for both she and her mother in-law. Not know what to expect, she wrote me an email when they arrived. She was so surprised and blessed that a total stranger would be so kind to do something like that and treasured my bookmark. Thus began my new adventure on FarmTown, not only do I work on their farms, but send them something special to help them know that someone cares for them, the works in mysterious ways. I was just happy to share a homemade gift truely from the heart. I have now sent them to Florida and North Carolina so far...making new friends.

I have stopped my car on the side of the road after once almost hitting a large stone on the road and other times it was a garbage can and/or cover and moved it to the side of the road so that the next person wouldn't hit them. I have put money into expired meters so they wouldn't get ticketed. I have also let people who had fewer items than me go in front of me on a cashier line and I try to hold the door for people as I am going into a store if they are right behind me. I also once gave money to a classmate because she needed to get soda because she is a diabetic and never asked for the money back. Also, I once was doing a food drive for my church and a elderly woman came out and I could see she was struggling with her bags as well as a walker. I approached her and told her I would help her to her car and I carried her bags as well as tried to support her. She was very grateful and wanted to reward me but I told her we are all here to help each other out. I always try to seek ways to do kind acts wherever I go because that is how I was brought up by my parents. My siblings are the same. In fact, one year my two sisters called people up randomly at the Christmas season to wish them a Merry Christmas. So many people were happy to receive these calls. I think the more one does random acts of kindness, the more it won't be random but something we do always. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, like me, this holy day and, to all who don't, Happy Holidays.
