I have a widowed neighbor who lives alone. She is a lonely soul who actually gathers her cats on the porch to read the mail to. Periodically we speak, but have no real relationship. The other day I was stepping down the road to deliver some Christmas cheese gifts to another neighbor. I saw her sitting outside and gave her the gift instead. I felt she needed it more. She needs to know someone cares.

The students at my school were having a fund raiser and I paid $25 for an OSU umbrella. I felt a bit guilty spending money on myself, and I really didn't need another umbrella. The day it came in, I was on my way home from work and I saw a poor distraught looking lady walking in the pouring rain. I pulled over and gave her the umbrella. Now it makes me feel good when I see her walking around town with the great big Buckeyes umbrella!
