Random Acts Of Kindness
ID: 1774 12/21/2010 12:26:09 AM. - Sandra - Riverside, California Instead of giving my students homework for the winter break, I asked them to perform a random act of kindness. One of my fellow teachers reported a couple days later that several of my students were fulfilling their random act of kindness by emptying the trash from each classroom. They explained that they wanted to secretly help the custodian so he could go home early that day. I wonder who else will be touched by my students who are taking up the challenge to perform one random act of kindness this season. 12/21/2010 10:06:15 AM - shannon (nickname: sha or speed queen) - Ireland I Think That Was Very Nice Of Them To Do That tell Them I Said `Well Done`! We all take alot of things for granted, and we need to remember, there are alot of people out there who have nothing!! 12/6/2011 2:21:31 PM - cba - u.s.a u r so nice! 12/21/2010 10:06:46 AM - shannon (nickname: sha or speed queen) - Ireland That was Sweet Of You!!!! ID: 1770 12/20/2010 3:49:01 PM - Keith - Puyallup, WA The other day a little old lady was in front of me at the Grocery store purchasing her weekly bread, cheese, milk, and other essentials. She was having a hard time figuring out the debit card machine so the cashier took her card to try and help. After seeing the type of card it was the cashier, very boisterously, blurted out... "OH!! This is for FOOD STAMPS!" The little old lady was obviously mortified, and thus became even more flustered. After she ran the card there happened to be about $5 left owing. The old lady obviously didn't have it and after about a minute of digging through her purse I handed the cashier a 20 and told her to pay for the balance of her groceries. While I didn't think it to be anything much (I mean how easy is it to spend $5 and not think twice about it), but for this little old lady it was her bread for the week. She was SO thankful and didn't stop thanking me until I had left the store. I'm no rich man feeding the masses, no marter or saint performing acts of servitude, but such a simple act had such a profound impact on this one woman. 12/21/2010 12:12:49 AM - Sandra - Riverside, California That was very sweet of you. Your R.A.K. brought me to tears. Everyone's mom and grandmother should be so kindly treated. Stunned the employees as they said it was the most random act they'd ever seen. Really put me in the Christmas spirit. I need to do it every time I feel down! 12/22/2010 1:32:50 PM. - Lorie - Brandon, MS I've done the same thing a few times. It's a lot of fun to watch in your rearview window as they try to figure out if they know you or what. 12/22/2011 8:30:44 PM. - Rachel - clarmont medows pagininin cresent nsw it was so random i closed my eyes and cliked on one ID: 1764 12/20/2010 11:01:20 AM - Melissa - Muncy, PA I was stopping by walmart to pick up some quick items. I shut my door and remembered I had forgotten my coupons. I turned to get back into my car without noticing a man pushing a cart back to the cart return. Not thinking much about it I rummaged through my car to find my coupons and once found I was headed back into the store. I thought I would grab a cart outside the store to help the poor cart return guy (because it was very bitter cold that evening). The only cart in the stall appeared to have garbage in it. I thought to myself, great someone left their garbage behind because they were to lazy to go throw it away themselves. After a second look, I realized that it wasn't a bag of garbage, it was a bad of merchandise. I looked through the bag and it had a very nice sweatshirt and a rather expensive video game. Included was a receipt that indicated that the merchandise was paid for with cash. I asked myself what would I want someone to do if I had left a package like that behind. Yes, I took the items back to the store and gave them to the customer service desk in hopes that the young man would call and he would sometime do the same for someone else. 12/21/2010 12:16:53 AM - Sandra - Riverside, California Just think what this world would be like if everyone did the same.
